Shavonne presents…

July 30th, 2008 by Bruce Lance

THE SHAVONNE FASHION JEWELRY BLOG!!

As many of you may know, blogs are becoming more popular among not only people but businesses. Shavonne has decided to take that next step as well!

We will be bringing you detailed information about the jewelry industry in both retail and wholesale perspectives. President/CEO Donald Gist will be making some posts regarding manufacturing processes and the general overview of fashion jewelry compared to fine jewelry and hopefully many more topics. We will also be presenting posts by different members of our staff discussing questions that may come often when they speak with you over the phone or email as well as other useful tips to keep you uptodate on the latest styles. I, the webmaster, will also be making a few posts when I want to let everyone know about changes that are taking place on our website (like the new look that you probably saw right before coming here) and also to give the common answers to common technical issues that I have heard about with our website and hopefully some useful solutions for you to try.

Now for a short little Blog introduction from Mr. Gist about what you can expect from him.

“Beautiful jewelry dates back some 3,000 years and always has been the source of much pride and joy.  In today’s modern world, beautiful jewelry basically is created by talented designers, manufactured in very clean factories,  and distributed through wholesale jewelry firms to the retail jewelry world. Since 1956, the Shavonne Corporation has been involved in every aspect of this entire industry, and the information we will share with you is from this 52 year background.

In future blogs, we will be sharing with you some real “insider” facts about the various metals used, and what you can expect for wearability from these metals.  We will also provide useful information on the various stones that are the most popular; and the proper care to retain their brilliance and wearability.  How to understand the various hallmarks, code numbers and letters that are used throughout the world.  And, some truly helpful insights on how these hallmarks will help you to understand what you are actually buying.”

Alright, now as I mentioned above, we do have a new site look! You can checkout this new look by visiting our homepage http://www.shavonne.com/ but chances are that you came here from there so leave us a comment and let us know what you think about it. Also, if you have any questions about something that we may have moved around then feel free to ask and I will try my very best to answer every question left in the comments section.

Thanks for visiting Shavonne and hopefully we will have a regular blogging schedule soon but for now, just keep checking back to see whats new!

Just one quick question, on my order: #40907SZKH appears on the ring and 40907SZKN on the invoice,
#40907SZCH on the ring and 40907ZCN on the invoice?????
Can you give me an explanation? This has happenend before and I just let it pass, but now my curiosity has gotten the best of me..I love the new look and it is very user friendly, Jim & I enjoy doing business with your firm. Please do not post to website.
    Thanks

I’m glad you like the new look. Now your question actually brings up a good idea for a new post so I will give a more indepth explanation as to what the ring tags/stock numbers mean in a post coming soon. To answer your question briefly in the meantime, those stock numbers mean the same thing. We drop the first letter when we add it to our website, and since that is the base metal code, we have to have a way to tell the difference between Rhodium plated on brass/bronze base metal and Rhodium plated on Sterling Silver. The H is for Rhodium on brass/bronze and the N is for Rhodium on Sterling Silver. The tag has an S so it also has an H to show its plated.

I hope that is not too confusing and if it is then hopefully I will explain it better in more detail in the coming post (hopefully Wednesday).

    Thanks for the comment.
    Bruce

Just a quick note to tell you that I was so very impressed with your quick and perfect response to my recent order. The fact that a real person actually picked up a phone to inquire about my order to insure it would be correct was totally terrific. Thank you again for your great service. I will certainly be ordering from you again. And will tell my friends.
