Intro and a Little History

Alright, today is going to be a little different than our usual posts in that I’m going to explain our new affiliate program. As all of our old affiliates were informed previously that our new shopping cart, which has been in use on our site for somewhere between 8 months and a year now, could not support our old affiliate program so a new affiliate system was in the works that would hopefully be better than the old.

Well the good news is that a month ago, it was launched. I’m a little late on the blog announcement for it but I was hoping to fix any issues that may have come up before going through an explanation of the system. As of this point, we have had no complaints so I hope thats a good sign. But thats enough history, lets get to the important stuff.

What is an affiliate program?
Well, its when someone signs up on a website (like Shavonne) and gets some link code to put on their site. When someone clicks that link and comes to the website and orders, the affiliate gets a percentage.

A Detailed Look

That’s a little simplified but it gives those who were wondering an idea. Now, Shavonne offers our affiliates 15% commission on all sales that we receive from an affiliate’s site. With our new program, when someone clicks on a link from an affiliate’s site to ours, we can see if that potential customer buys anything within the next 30 days. If they do then the amount will show up in the affiliate’s monitoring page with the amount that Shavonne will pay to them.

Shavonne will only pay out once a month for affiliates choosing to be paid by PayPal and once a quarter for affiliates choosing to be paid by check. Also checks will only be written when $50 or more is pending payment to that affiliate. That does not mean that $50 has to be earned in one quarter, all pending payments will roll-over to until they are paid.

Already an affiliate with our new program?
In that case, Shavonne would like to thank you for participating and we hope it will be mutually beneficial for us. If you log into your affiliate account (right here) then the first page you will see is your pending amounts. These are broken down per order we have received from customers coming from your site and they will be paid out according to our payout schedule mentioned above. The next option in the menu is the Previous Payments which will show what amounts have been sent to you already! Then we have Edit Account so that you can update your information to keep it up-to-date. Next is the Get Link Code which is a very important section as it is the page that can generate those links that you need to place on your site for Shavonne to be able to tell where the customers are coming from! Last, of course, is the logout which will simply log you out of your affiliate section (which is always a good thing to remember to do if you are using a public computer).

Hi guys! Hopefully you have noticed the changes we’ve been making to our site. We have the new scrolling banner that will highlight new items and top selling items. You should be able to scroll over an item and the banner stop and click the image to take you to the item page. We also have the Wholesale Account log in. Wholesalers you definitely want to sign in! We are going to start running specials (whether it’s extra discounts or free items), but you will only see the offers if you log into your account!! These specials may only run for a few days, so log in often! We have added a new search engine on your wholesale homepage for you guys to help make re-ordering easier. Please let us know how this is working for you! Also if you are a loyal retail customer, be sure to sign up for the Shavonne Newsletter at the bottom of our homepage. A lot of times we will send a Voucher code for extra discounts that are not advertised on our homepage.

If you’re looking for a specific size or color of a ring, be sure to use the FIND A RING search engine located in the top right corner of every Shavonne page. Let’s say you need a birthday gift for a friend. She wears a size 6 ring and you want the ring in her birthstone for January. But you don’t know January’s birthstone! In the search bar type SIZE 6 JANUARY. It will pull from our inventory all rings in stock in a size 6 with January’s birthstone! How awesome is that!

We are also excited to re-launch our affiliate program. I’m sure Bruce will write about that in a few days to give you all the techs, but basically you’ll need to re-sign up for it to begin receiving credit. There is a large banner on our homepage, just click on it and it will give you the sign up page.
